Visible Parts
We’ll start our journey at the top of her vulva and work our way south through her visible parts.
Vulva
The vulva is the name of the female genitals as a whole. When a woman gets aroused, her vulva swells with blood which causes it to darken slightly and become very sensitive to touch. When her vulva is touched, it sends sensations throughout the entire area.
Mons Pubis
The mons pubis, also known as the mons veneris, is a thick fatty pad that covers her pubic bone and is naturally covered with pubic hair. Its main purpose is to protect her pubic bone during intercourse.
Interesting fact about pubic hair: The principal function of pubic hair is to attract and keep odors that are released from glands in the pubic area. These odors might not smell good to women, but they are very arousing and intoxicating to men.
Labia Majora
Moving down, we meet the starting point of her labia major, commonly known as her outer or big lips. The outer sides of her labia majora are naturally covered with intoxicating, fragrant pubic hair. The inner sides of her labia majora are smooth and lined with oil and sweat glands.
Under the skin of her labia majora is a network of erectile tissue that engorges with blood when she’s aroused. Her outer lips are analogous to the male scrotum and were formed from the same embryonic tissue during gestation.
Her labia majora (outer lips) are sensitive to touch but not nearly as sensitive as her inner lips or clitoris.
Front Commissure
Moving a little south of where her outer lips start just below her mons pubis is the front commissure. The front commissure is a small area between where her outer lips part and her clitoral hood. Below the skin of the front commissure lies part of her clitoral shaft. When she’s aroused, this area is sensitive to gentle pressure.
Labia Minora
Enfolded within her labia majora are the labia minora, commonly called her inner or little lips. Her inner lips envelop and surround the clitoral head, urethra, and entrance to her vagina. Labia minora are unique from woman to woman. Some are narrow; others are wide; some curl inwards; while others flair outwards. Some have a smooth and glossy texture, and others have a wrinkled bumpy feel.
The labia minora are hairless and contain many oil glands that look and feel like tiny bumps. Her inner lips are also rich in nerve endings and play an important role in her arousal. When she’s aroused, her small lips swell with blood and turn dark.
Clitoral Hood
The clitoral hood is analogous to the foreskin of a penis and is located under where her little lips first part. It protects her clitoral head from injury and over stimulation. When initially stimulating the clitoris, rubbing the clitoral good instead of direct contact with the clitoris is preferred by most women.
Clitoral Glans
Protected by the clitoral hood and inner lips, the clitoral glans (head) is the epicenter of her orgasm. Her clitoral glans contain a staggering 8,000 nerve endings; twice as many nerve endings as the head of a penis, and more than any other part of her body. The clitoris glans (head) is so sensitive that at the peak of sexual arousal (climax) it retracts under the clitoral hood to keep it from being over stimulated.
Clitoral heads come in many sizes, just like penises. Some are small, and others are large, but they all contain the same amount of nerve endings.
Urethral Opening
The urethral opening is where her urine is released. It’s located between her clitoris head and vagina opening. Rough sex or sex after an extended time of abstinence can cause the urethral opening to become bruised and sore. Rough sex can also force bacteria up into the urethra and cause an infection. Urination after intercourse can help prevent infection.
Vagina
Her vagina is the tube her husband inserts his penis into during intercourse. Most of the time her vagina is a collapsed tube. In its unaroused state, her vagina is 3 to 4.5 inches long. When your wife is aroused, her vagina extends past her cervix into her body. The lower third of her vagina (near the opening) also closes down, and the upper two-thirds open up.
The vaginal walls are made up of 3 layers, the mucous membrane outer layer, the muscle middle layer, and the fibrous inner layer. The mucous layer is full of folds that are similar to the folds in the roof of your mouth, but softer. This texture provides the texture your husband needs to climax during intercourse. The muscle layer contracts during intercourse firmly gripping your husband’s penis. The fibrous layer provides structural support.
Her vagina has lots of blood vessels but very few nerve endings. The inner two-thirds of her vagina are usually not capable of feeling a penis. Who would have thought? Most men don’t have a clue about this fact.
The walls of her vagina continually produce secretions that moisten and clean her vagina. When she is aroused (within 10 – 30 seconds) the walls of her vagina sweat a slippery fluid that serves as a lubricant for intercourse. Depending on how her body is orientated, the lubrication might not make it to her vaginal opening. The amount of and thickness of the fluid varies from woman to woman and where she is in her cycle.
Frenulum
Her labia minora (small lips) meet below her vagina opening to form the frenulum, a small expanse of soft, sensitive skin. This area is also rich in nerve endings and extremely sensitive when she’s aroused.
Perineum
Her perineum is a small patch of skin between where her outer lips meet and her anus. Below the skin of her perineum is a vast network of blood vessels and tissue that fills with blood when she’s aroused. This area becomes intensely sensitive when she’s aroused.
Internal Parts
Clitoral Body
The clitoral head is just the tip of her pleasure center’s iceberg. If you were to follow her clitoral head beneath the skin of her vulva, you’d immediately head north through in a soft shaft made of erectile tissue that grows when she’s aroused, and extremely sensitive to pressure. This shaft extends north from her clitoral head just below the skin about three-quarters of an inch towards the mons pubis. From there it forks into two thin legs that flair down along the path of her inner (little) lips.
Additionally, her clitoris is woven into her vagina muscle (g-spot), pelvic floor muscle, and encircles her anus. That’s why anal stimulation is often a turn-on for women and very erotic.
Hymen
Her hymen is located just inside the opening of her vagina. It is a fold of tissue that covers part of her vagina. In extreme cases, the hymen can cover the entire vagina and must be broken to allow menstruation.
The hymen used to be thought of as very delicate, but it’s actually very elastic and capable of healing quickly. It also used to be used to determine virginity. Modern medicine has proven that practice not to be accurate at all.
Pubococcygeus Muscle
Her pubococcygeus muscle, also known as her P.C. muscle surrounds her vagina, urethra, and anus. Her P.C. muscle experiences involuntary rhythmic contractions during orgasm. She can also voluntarily squeeze her P.C. muscles.
It has been proven that the stronger these muscles are, the more easily and strongly she can orgasm. P.C. muscle strength is particularly necessary for coital orgasm (orgasm during intercourse). Women with weak P.C. muscles have a hard time achieving orgasm.
G-Spot
Her g-spot is located about 2 – 3 inches inside on the top or roof of her vagina. This area produces distinct feelings and often swells when stimulated. Roots of her clitoral body crisscross in this area.
Cervix
Her cervix is often thought of as being at the end of her vagina. If she is laying on her back, her cervix is actually at the top or roof of her vagina almost at the end. When she is aroused her vagina extends past her cervix.
The cervix has a good number of nerve endings which enable her cervix to be stimulated when she is ovulating. This also explains why a pap smear sometimes hurts and sometimes doesn’t.
